SPRING is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to building a strong foundation of support, belonging and participation for Dobbs Ferry children with limited resources.  SPRING provides access to a broad range of community, school and extracurricular activities and advocates to ensure inclusion for all children.

Our Programs

  • Summer Camp

    SPRING works with the Dobbs Ferry Parks and Recreation Department to provide funding for children to attend day camp.

  • Enrichment

    SPRING works with local organizations including to fund student participation in year-round enrichment programs, classes and activities.

  • Nursery School Scholarships

    SPRING works with Dobbs Ferry nursery schools to provide discounted tuition for students who qualify. 

  • Sports

    SPRING partners with school and community sports programs by assisting families with registration and equipment costs.

  • Musical Muses

    SPRING encourages music participation by covering the cost of instrument rentals.

  • School Supplies

    SPRING provides children with the required supplies for the start of the school year.

  • High School Support

    SPRING ensures that all students have the resources for test prep classes, uniform costs for certain sports and a yearbook for senior year. 

  • Kids Can!

    SPRING facilitates food drives throughout the year. Food donations are collected in Springhurst classrooms to stock the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry.

  • Help-a-Child 2.0

    SPRING connects families most in need with community members who fulfill specific seasonal clothing and sports equipment requests.

  • Food Support

    SPRING helps local families meet their food needs through our partnership with the Dobbs Ferry Food Pantry and Family-to-Family.

  • Early Literacy

    SPRING founded and continues to support the early literacy program for at-risk children at Springhurst Elementary School.

  • Crisis Intervention

    SPRING responds to families experiencing exceptional hardship due to extended illness, or sudden loss of employment and other family emergencies, on a case by case basis.

  • Project Explore

    Through the help of partners, SPRING offers Middle School students a program emphasizing curiosity, independence and problem solving.

  • Senior Awards

    SPRING offers three different awards to graduating seniors each year: the In Our Backyard Award to students with dedication to local community service; the SPRINGBoard Award to students with financial need and plans for further education; and the Sean Grogg Memorial Award for students with determination, resilience and kindness.

  • Coat Drive

    SPRING coordinates an annual drive to provide winter coats for local children and adults.

  • Snack Fairies

    Through the generosity of volunteers, SPRING provide daily healthy snacks for children at Springhurst Elementary.

  • Pool Passes

    SPRING works with the Dobbs Ferry Recreation Department to provide discounted memberships to families.

  • Clothing Suport

    SPRING partners with The Sharing Shelf to provide clothing for local children most in need.
